My Practice

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Anchorage Alaska and am in private practice at Counseling Solutions of Alaska.

I specialize in reproductive health and well-being with a focus on helping women and their families cope with the emotional aspects of infertility, high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy loss, perinatal loss, and postpartum depression. I also aid clients in exploring the birth experience, preconception planning, parenting concerns, and lifestyle change.

There are many schools of thought and traditions in psychotherapy; I believe that every mother’s experience is unique and they each deserve to be met where they are at. I approach therapuatic work from a person-centered perspective- which means that your goals, experiences, and background set the tone for our work together. You are the expert on your life. Together we can establish an authentic therapeutic relationship that provides an open, supportive, and nonjudmental space for growth and change.

Within that context, I employ an eclectic approach tailored to the needs of the individual or family. That approach may include, and is not limited to, the following types of therapy:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Trauma Focused Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Attachment Focused Therapy
  • Art Therapy Activities & Techniques
  • Play Based Activities & Techniques
  • Meditation & Breathing Techniques
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy
